Hangtag

Consignment point of sale

Every item in your shop wears a tag. Hangtag runs what happens next.

Point of sale, consignor accounts, splits, fees and payouts — built for consignment, resale, thrift and vendor malls. Unlimited consignors and unlimited inventory on every plan.

What it does

The awkward parts of consignment, handled

Most point-of-sale software can take money. Very little of it can work out what you owe the person whose jumper you just sold.

SPLITS

Splits that cascade

Set a split for the shop, override it for a consignor, a category, or one item. Whichever is most specific wins, and the payout is worked out at the till, not later in a spreadsheet.

FEES

Buyer's and item fees

Fee bands by price range, taken off retail before the split or off the consignor's share after it. Card, cheque and ACH fees come out of payouts automatically.

AGEING

Tag colours and expiry

Items carry a start date, an expiry and a tag colour. Markdown ladders drop the price as stock ages, and expired items either return to the consignor or convert to store stock.

STOCK

Store-owned and consigned, together

Bought outright, converted from an expired contract, or on consignment — all on the same floor, with the margin and the consignor split kept apart in reporting.

PAYOUTS

Balances people can check themselves

Every sale credits the right consignor immediately. Pay out by cash, cheque, ACH or store credit, with statements that reconcile.

STORES

A second shop, not a second system

One consignor list across every location. Activate someone at one store or both, keep separate balances, settings and tax per store, and move stock between them.

Pricing

Priced like a tool, not a tax on your shop

Month to month, cancel whenever. Consignors and inventory are unlimited on every plan — a shop with 4,000 consignors is a healthy shop, not an upsell opportunity.

Switching

Your consignors' balances arrive to the cent, or we don't switch you over.

Moving systems is frightening because it's other people's money. So we reconcile before you cut over, not after: every consignor's balance in the new system has to match your old one exactly. We've run this against a live catalogue of 3,896 consignors, 10,028 items and 18,384 payout entries — every balance matched, nothing rounded away.

STEP 1ExportYou send the consignor, customer, inventory and payment files from your current system.
STEP 2ReconcileWe load them and check every consignor balance against your old totals, then show you the report.
STEP 3PractiseYour staff ring real sales on a copy while the old system stays live. Nothing is at risk.
STEP 4SwitchCut over between trading days, with the old data still there if you want it.

Free on every plan. No setup fee, no contract, 14-day trial and we don't ask for a card to start.

Questions

Before you ask

Is there a contract?

No. Month to month, cancel any time from your own settings. Annual billing saves two months if you'd rather pay once.

What does it cost to take card payments?

You keep your own card processor and its rates. We don't take a cut of your sales and we don't mark up processing.

Do you limit consignors or items?

Never. Every plan is unlimited on both.

Can consignors see their own account?

On Plus and Multi-Store. They sign in to see their items, what's sold and their current balance — usually the thing staff get asked most.

We have two shops. Do we need two subscriptions?

No. Multi-Store covers unlimited locations on one subscription, with one consignor list. A consignor is activated per store and keeps a separate balance and store credit at each, so nothing is double-counted.

Do we own our data?

Yes, and you can export all of it at any time — consignors, inventory, sales and payment history, in the shape you'd need to take it elsewhere.

What about store-owned stock?

A first-class case, not a workaround. Items bought outright or converted from expired consignment sell without crediting anyone, and reporting keeps store margin and consignor split apart.

Who answers support?

The people who build it. There's no tier-one script to get past.

See it on your own numbers

Send us an export from your current system and we'll show you your shop running in Hangtag, with your consignor balances reconciled — before you commit to anything.
